If you have school-aged children then you know that March break is nearly here and if you’re not heading south on a jet plane somewhere, there are numerous activities to take advantage of here at home in Hamilton.
If you’re children like to play dress up Dundurn Castle and the Hamilton Military Museum have a great program called Capture the Moment where children can make their own costume pieces, dress up and take pictures in front of recreated backdrops of Dundurn or dress up like an 1812 soldier and strike a pose in front of British encampment.
For more historic fun visit the Battlefield House Museum and see the past come to life through a series of fun, hands-on activities for the whole family; or take part in a historical scavenger hunt organized by the Fieldcote Museum. Here families can learn interesting facts about famous Canadian and explore the museum during an indoor scavenger hunt. Further that learning on Hamilton’s history at the Hamilton’s Children Museum with its galleries to explore.
Get back to basics and take part in “Unplugged” presented by the Hamilton Museum of Steam & Technology. Low-tech games and activities like chess and origami are just some of the happenings in the activity centre.
Finally, delight the child in everyone with Disney on Ice: Dare to Dream at the FirstOntario Centre. Celebrate courage and discover your inner hero with Moana, Anna and Elsa, Rapunzel, Belle and Cinderella.
With all there is to see and do in Hamilton, its easy to break for fun this March.
