Born in the nation’s capital, Simon Gencher graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor in Social Science, specializing in Criminology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He obtained his law degree from the University of Alberta in 1996 and was admitted to the bar in 1998. Simon then obtained a Masters in Law at Osgoode Hall Law School in 2000, specializing in Alternative Dispute Resolution. Simon’s training and experience has made him very effective at negotiating excellent settlements for his clients.
Simon’s keen interest in the law, his desire to help others, and his drive to make a difference are ultimately the reasons he decided to practice personal injury law. When asked to join the Morris Law Group in 2009, Simon saw in the firm a similar passion for tirelessly championing the rights of clients. He admired the firm’s unique team approach and relished the opportunity to mentor under William Morris.
With over a decade of experience on the defence side and having appeared at every level of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada, Simon has a unique understanding of both sides of the law. This experience helps him prepare a more fundamentally sound case for his clients and assists him in providing more realistic expectations for clients as they are prepared for the long and sometimes arduous process of personal injury compensation.
Simon, an active member of the legal community, is a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, Hamilton Law Association, Canadian Bar Association, and Law Society of Upper Canada.
Simon is a father of three and loves to participate in numerous outdoor sports, especially skiing and surfing.
