From a very young age, Yan Lau was told she would make a great lawyer. Whether it is her passion for learning, strong work ethic, love of debate or simply the desire to help others, Yan was destined to become a lawyer.
Yan attended Wilfrid Laurier University where she obtained her Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 2004, achieving the Dean’s Honour Roll. Yan also volunteered for numerous groups, including the Canadian Diabetes Association and Big Brothers Big Sisters in Waterloo.
While attending the University of Saskatchewan to obtain her Bachelor of Laws degree, Yan excelled in the collegial atmosphere and academic excellence of her school. Yan was awarded the C.H.J. (Claude) Burrows, Q.C. prize for her contributions to the law school community.
With the desire to help clients and an opportunity to make a significant impact on one’s life, Yan chose to article at The Morris Law Group. She joined the firm as an associate following her call to the bar in 2009.
Yan thrives in the demanding field of plaintiff personal injury and stands out with her strong work ethic, compassion for her clients and devotion to the law. She pores tirelessly over the details of an accident to properly advise the client in helping them move forward.
Yan is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, the Hamilton Law Association and the Hamilton Medical-Legal Society.
