The month of June has been dedicated to raising awareness on brain injury. Brain injury can take on several forms and result from a number of causes. Brain injuries can vary from mild concussion to severe coma. Through advancements in medical and trauma care, the lives of people affected by brain injury are improving. Increased awareness about brain injuries creates opportunities for support.
The Hamilton Brain Injury Association is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing brain injury survivors and their families with support services and resources to maximize their quality of life. They do this through education, support and advocacy.
Steps towards raising awareness and funds for this organization will be taking place on June 17th for the 12th Annual 5K by The Bay. Survivors of Acquired Brain Injury, their families, and community partners can walk or run while taking in the sights of the beautiful Hamilton Harbour. The Morris Law Group team will be out in full force for this event both as participants in the run and as volunteers.
Participants can set their own pace along the route and are eligible for a number of great prizes. This event is an opportunity for the entire family to have a great time while lending support to a very worthy cause.
The HBIA creates opportunities to increase awareness, provide education, and advocate for those who have acquired a brain injury. These programs range from creating awareness through school programs to helping caregivers and spouses gain more insight into their loved ones and provide the best support to them. Join us in taking steps towards brain injury awareness and help move the great work of the Hamilton Brain Injury Association forward.
